A beautiful rainy, then sunny, then rainy, day.
….
Witnessed at least 15 acts of police brutality first hand, against PEACEFUL protesters. NOT against the clowns smashing shit.
….
Witnessed countless arrests of PEACEFUL protesters who did not back up “quick enough” for the police’s liking.
Witnessed the police horses LITERALLY trample a woman at Queen’s Park, of all places.
….
Stood in solidarity with all other peaceful protesters who were attacked for no reason, WITHOUT any prior warning to move back (as opposed to the lies Police Chief Bill Blair repeated over and over at his press conference) again, at Queen’s Park.
Ran/Watched in disgust as our shameful “security” force shot at us with rubber bullets and tear gas WITHOUT warning that these forceful tactics would be used (again, as opposed to the lies Bill Blair repeated ad infinitum) again, at Queen’s Park of all places.
Was forcibly (and illegally) searched and questioned by police for no other reason (according to them) except for the fact that my t-shirt was black.
Mmm, tasted pepper spray lingering heavily in the moist air.
….
Felt my democratic rights to protest and free assembly be shit on by police who wanted to divide (and conquer) the various groups of protesters. PEACEFUL protesters.
….
Pushed the riot police back several blocks, in solidarity with hundreds of other PEACEFUL protesters.
….
Became more disgusted then ever with the mass media in Toronto, who, once I got home, broadcasted nothing but the negative aspects of the protest on a infinite loop. Thousands of PEACEFUL protesters/groups/orgs/etc. and they focused SOLELY on a group of maybe 30 anarchists fucking up Yonge St. Shame on the media. Shame on Bill Blair. Shame on the citizens of Toronto who assume all protesters engaged in or support that bullshit. The majority of us condemn such actions.
….
Anyways, here’s some pics from the day. I apologize for the quality, I was not really focusing on taking pictures really, in addition, I was using a shitty camera in shitty lighting conditions. Will post videos in next couple days.

That which WE demand:

Will be supplied…

Not to mention the fact that we do not question corporate practices until a disaster such as this one takes place.

Not to mention the fact that we complain about government regulation, that we have to pay taxes to ensure regulators can do their jobs – until a disaster such as this one takes place.

Not to mention the fact that we do not hold corporations accountable for disasters such as this one unless it happens where WE live.

Oil will be our achilles heel.
