I’m sick.

I forgot how much it sucks.

I strive to commit myself to only publishing posts with some degree of substance and meaning, but since this is in fact the “connect with cooper” blog, I thought I would update you on my personal status.

Yes, I’m sick and this post was probably a waste of your time, but I’d like to let you know that I have some excellent, thought-provoking content coming soon.

As long as this cold doesn’t hinder me from staying on point.

I’d like to also extend a big thank you to all my readers who continue to support the blog with your eyes, thoughts, comments, emails, tweets and facebook messages. I will let you down for the next week or so.

I mean.

I will try to not let you down for the next week or so.

Take care for now.

Thank you for connecting,

Thank you for connecting,

Time that it takes to read this post: 2 mins approx.

I am a “pack rat”. I am not ashamed of this.

I am not ashamed of this because my hoarding is actually quite focused: music & information. My study room consists of piles upon piles of eclectic mixes of reading materials (I do keep it somewhat organized, truthfully!). From college study notes to insightful Dilbert comic strips.

Often I will take time to review some materials, and going through some papers today I found the following. I unfortunately cannot remember where this piece is from (if you know please let me know) as it is printed on an unmarked, one-sided piece of paper, but none the less, I thought it would be an excellent piece to share with you today.

A Bill Of Rights For Future Generations

We, The People of the future, like the twenty thousand generations who came before us, have the right to breathe air that smells sweet, to drink water that runs pure and free, to swim in waters that teem with life, and to grow our food in rich living earth.

We have the right to inherit a world unsullied by toxic chemicals, nuclear waste, or genetic pollution. We have the right to walk in untamed nature and to feel the awe that comes when we suddenly lock eyes with a wild beast.

We beseech you, the people of today: do not leave your dirty messes for us to clean up; do not take technological risks, however small, that may backfire catastrophically in times to come. Just as we respectfully ask that you not burden us with your deferred debts and depleted pension plans, we also claim our right to a share of the planet’s ecological wealth. Please don’t use it all up.

We, in turn, promise to do the same. We grant these same rights and privileges to the generations who will live after us; we do so in the sacred hope that the human spirit will live forever.

A curse on any generation who ignores this plea.

-Intro

-Hook

-Verse I: (AC)

Shit  I’m back to essence of my work moa’phukers

Blessings of the earth what I serve in my versemoa’phukers

see,

If you grew up in the same house as me, you’d know why it’s essential that I curse motherfuckers (for emphasis)

Impressiveness, imperial penmanship, exerted effort now I bless words effortless

Buddha-blood ink when I pen this shit, braulic, fatwa to murder any MC who slept on it

Never dishonest like Harper in political contests, you contest the comments

But the constant is you consistently garnish your track with gossip girls-type content, it’s wack (fall back)

These mcs get on it, isn’t far fetched to say you’d fetch far for our sound T-Dot to Vancity

Man simply…we stay fresh as fuck, an historical truth, yeah that crispy

so spite it while your ledger dissolves, plan a vendetta of scorn

Depressed fuck, pain getting you off?

I radiate like graff burners, better us all, not in terms of the cheddar that I’m better than y’all

I book face time while you facebook “lol” letters and all

I’m the meaning of dope like Espiritu said it to y’all

Don’t fear Coops I’m just working better with thoughts, can’t measure what I treasure ’cause I treasure it all

Rex told me knowledge is power so deaden ‘em all

Flow upscale, like Rumsfeld put torture sessions in song

All the media’s got to press the next morn’ is a pic. of my middle finger and a rough sketch of my balls

I’m getting up like this…

-Hook

I’m gettin’ up like this, and put it down like that…

I’m gettin’ up like this, flip the sound like this, and put it down like that and put you down like that…

X2

-Verse II – Aten Rex

-Would love a comment regarding what you think about the song.  And for those people who always have some “blah blah blah” to tell me (I know it’s coming) I do this as a hobby, that’s all. But leave a comment regardless.
